Now that I am a parent and a photographer, that memory drives my photography style as well as the images I capture.
I am a thrifting + personal growth junkie. I love the moon, the sound of crickets, and coffee at any time of the day. I believe in living a simpler life all while making a big deal out of small accomplishments and every single one of my daughter’s achievements. My husband is pretty much the coolest person I have ever met + together with our daughter Joplyn + cat Bailey, we live a pretty good life.
My favourite pictures, however, were not the ones of me and my siblings lined up from youngest to oldest in front of the Christmas tree, but the ones of me simply + freely being me. I loved the photographs of me bottle feeding our lambs, watching TV in my oversized fleece nightgown, or chilling with Fifi, our German Shepherd, on the front lawn. These weren't necessarily spectacular images or moments, but I can remember how loved it made me feel that someone chose to capture me just as I was.

Growing up, my parents kept all our family pictures in a big blue suitcase lined with silk. I would often dig it out and can remember rummaging through all our old memories.

I have this really charming habit of playing to same movie in the background for weeks on end.
Out of all the pictures I've ever taken in my entire existence, this one of Joplyn is my absolute favourite.
